Let’s Get Kraken is a devised piece that blends contact, children’s theatre, and musical theatre together, creating a fun and thoughtful piece of dramatic art. We were inspired by real historical events and art that encapsulated a pirate’s life on the raging seas, combined with legends and stories of old and from popular pirate myth. From this blend of factual and artistic testimonials, we were able to fuel our craft and build our composition. It is a perfect combination of lighthearted fun and thoughtful, deep themes that challenge a young audience in a gentle way, while also using contact in a way that will create exciting images and fast paced action. We hope that it inspires children to create their own stories and fuels their own creative spirits, while also just being a fun time at the theatre that the whole family can enjoy.
