ABOUT ME & MY WORK

I am interested in art which ascends reality. Movies, plays, and works of art all move me, if there is a sense of magic within them. I want my art to leave reality. My work will have a sense that something is beyond what is humanly possible, but in every way be tied to humanity. Each piece of magic will be born of this, the human condition.

Specificity of text, movement and character is vastly important to me. My work in school and practice has provided me with a multitude of techniques in regards to theatre, composition and film. I find myself drawn to how movement practices like the Suzuki technique and Viewpoints work can inform character, story and text.

I find joy in collaborating with other artists and creators, which I have been lucky enough to exercise thoroughly in my practice as an artist. Being able to articulate a vision to more than one or two people is hugely important to me. Without others, performance cannot exist. (for obvious reasons...)

My art will help me learn about who I am and who I strive to be. My art is an extension of who I am. I want to learn to laugh at myself. I want to make my audience laugh too; not because it’s funny in a slapstick kind of way, but because my art is holding up a mirror to the absurdity of who they are as people; who we all are as people. Every single person on Earth is crazy, and I want to prove that.
